SINGAPORE – Electric car sharing service BlueSG announced on Monday August 10 that it had hit its millionth lease since launching its car sharing program in 2017. Introduced as part of the Land Transport Authority’s pilot program on a nationwide electric vehicle sharing initiative, BlueSG now has more than 80,000 customers paying $ 8 per month to use one of its 667 Blue Cars. Despite falling subscriptions and rents during the circuit’s blackout period, BlueSG saw strong growth after Singapore reopened on June 2, the company said in a statement.
BlueSG Scored 100.000 Times Rented Per Month
The car is rented about 100,000 times per month with 4,000 subscriptions added during the same period, said Franck Vitte, CEO of BlueSG. BlueSG has scored a spectacular rented number because of the large capacity number and stations that located strategically in convenient and popular locations.
The company said it had launched two new subscription packages in December that had proven effective.
The subscription plan is a premium semiannual subscription plan priced at $ 18 per month and a basic subscription plan for $ 8 per month. Both packages also come with a rental rate of $ 0.33 per minute.
BlueSG offers other rental packages for further travel at lower prices. This includes a three-hour plan for $ 39.90 and a five-hour package for $ 49.90.
The company currently has 345 charging stations with 1,371 charging points across the island in public housing areas, industrial buildings, shopping centers, Changi Airport, Sentosa and the city center.
